Ropes & Gray

Having previously occupied space on several lower floors of One Exchange Square, Ropes & Gray consolidated their Hong Kong office at Levels 43 and 44 of the same tower, in 2018.

As with most law firms, the Client Suite – which is at the upper floor – features a number of well equipped conference, meeting and video conferencing (VC) rooms, while the fee-earners are housed in private offices, all of which are fitted with adjustable-height desks.

The meeting room facing the reception and waiting area features a Navicula pendant light designed by David Trubridge. This fixture was inspired by one of the many microscopic diatoms floating around in our oceans and is lit from within by a row of pin-point LED lights that cast patterns through the segmented, thinly curved pieces of bamboo plywood comprising the flowing structure.

One wall of the Café is fitted with a bespoke artwork, by Louise Soloway Chan, which incorporates numerous scenes of daily Hong Kong life into a colourful, 12 meter long, full height mural.

The project was completed on a Design / Build basis over a six-month period, in conjunction with a PM team from JLL.
