Victoria Harbour Apartments
Located along the shoreline of North Point with Java Road to the south, Victoria Harbour, as this Sun Hung Kai Properties development is known, commands views across Kowloon Bay towards the Tsim Sha Tsui peninsula and the Kowloon Hills beyond. There are 355 residential units ranging from studio to four bedroom units with the larger apartments facing the water. The main residential lobbies, as well as the Residents Clubhouse, sit at podium roof level, to facilitate the inclusion of a transport interchange on the site. Further constraints that directly impact overall planning arise from the widening of Java Road and the integration of public open space with the waterfront promenade.
Club Vici, the Residents Clubhouse, is all at one level with facilities overlooking the outdoor pools, terraces and gardens on the podium roof. Within the clubhouse, there is a distinctly aquatic theme running through the design, reflecting its waterfront context: the pools, both indoor and out, suggest a beachside sandy foreshore; the waved pool ceilings, reflect in the water surfaces below; crystal light sculptures hint at a marine world of anemones or drifting medusozoa as they sway gently to the movement of air. Along with the pools, a gym supports efforts towards overall wellbeing while a spa and a selection of dining and function rooms offer more sensual pleasures that can be catered by the adjacent Hotel Vic, part of the overall development of the area.
