China CITIC Bank International

The new China CITIC Bank International Headquarters occupies 70,000 SF on the 79th and 80th floors of the International Commerce Centre (ICC) which is currently the tallest building in Hong Kong.

The project entailed construction of an interconnecting stair, a 60-position Trading Room, a 30-person Boardroom and twelve other Meeting Rooms – including a flexible multi-function space for client receptions and other large events.

In a break from traditional office planning, virtually all of the staff accommodation is open-plan. There are very few enclosed offices and most of these are located against the core, rather than along the curtain wall, in order to allow the staff to benefit from the spectacular views.

One client concern at the outset of this project was that there would be too much daylight at such a high level of the building. This was successfully resolved by adding a second layer of roller blinds to augment the translucent, landlord provided, sun shades at the perimeter of each floor.
