Tze Yuet Heen Chinese Restaurant

Within the Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East Hotel, the Tze Yuet Heen is the main formal restaurant located on the 2nd floor overlooking the lobby atrium.

Water is referenced in many of the interior elements. The curved wall which forms the backdrop to the restaurant suggests a slowly moving stream with leaping carp. The carpet is a lush broadloom weave, picking up rippling water forms with shadowy images of fish.

Lighting elements reflect two themes: ink-laden brushes applying their medium to the elements around while also reminiscent of bird cages, Shadows cast from the lights within these fixtures spread across the ceiling suggesting beams of sunlight breaking though a wooded copse.

The main area offers open dining typical of noisy, busy Chinese restaurants while a quieter more intimate environment can be enjoyed at the banquette seating and tables along the feature wall. A number of semi-private areas, defined by fretwork and silk fabric screens, are located near the entrance. Three private dining rooms at the far end can be opened into a combined private function area for special events.
