Prudential Medical Centre
Building on the success of their other clinics in Hong Kong, the insurance giant is now firmly established at a new Prudential Medical Centre in Tsimshatsui.
The project occupies less than 2,500 square feet but is light and airy – with a generous entrance and waiting area where clients are seated in small pods, separated from the reception space by full height, translucent screens. These allow daylight to permeate the interior and provide views to the street for staff and customers.
As with all similar projects, the materials throughout needed to be both long-wearing, and easy to clean and maintain. Vinyl flooring and plastic laminate in timber veneer patterns were used extensively, with a dark carpet tile in the more relaxed VIP Rooms; cove lighting and halogen fixtures predominate in the public areas, with fluorescent lighting in the examination rooms and at the nurses’ station.
The company’s Legend Wall has been incorporated into the circulation area leading to the doctors’ offices while the Prudence logo is subtly etched into a stone fascia at the entrance, greeting all who arrive.
