Peak Tram Gallery
There are four intermediate stops along the Peak Tram between Garden Road and the Peak: Kennedy Road, MacDonnell Road, May Road and Barker Road.
In 2008, all four were refurbished with new seating and shelters built for the lower three. The stop illustrated is at MacDonnell Road which will also be familiar to hikers in Hong Kong as it lies along the path of the Central Green Trail between Cotton Tree Drive and Barker Road.
Each of the stops tells the story of its origin and this particular one takes its name from the former colonial governor of Hong Kong, Richard Graves MacDonnell, in office between 1865 and 1872. The Peak Tram itself opened in 1888.
