Ropes & Gray

Having previously occupied space on several lower floors of One Exchange Square, Ropes & Gray have consolidated their Hong Kong office at Levels 43 and 44 of the same tower, with their new reception on the upper floor.

As with most law firms, the client suite features a number of well equipped conference, meeting and video conferencing (VC) rooms while the fee-earners are housed in private offices, all of which are fitted with adjustable-height desks.

The client meeting room facing the reception and waiting area features a Navicula pendant light designed by David Trubridge. The fixture is inspired by one of the many microscopic diatoms floating around in our oceans and is lit from within by a row of pin-point LED lights that cast patterns through the segmented, thinly curved pieces of bamboo plywood comprising the flowing structure.

The project was completed on a Design / Build basis over a six-month period in 2018, in conjunction with a project management team from JLL.
