Touchstone Gallery

Hollywood Road in Hong Kong’s Mid-Levels has long been the heart of the local art scene, even before the huge surge of interest in contemporary Chinese paintings and sculpture. Its charm has drawn tourists and collectors alike, with items of interest ranging from ancient Asian artefacts to modern European art.

Touchstone Gallery showcases an eclectic mixture of many of these diverse items, from oils, watercolours and lithographs to bronze sculptures, Chinese ceramics and bespoke furniture by George Nakashima.

The gallery provides a neutral backdrop for these many and varied pieces where materials range from black slate flooring to a deep grey carpet, black cabinetry with timber tops, and white walls.

The soffit and all services are painted black to mimic the floor finishes and not compete with the items on display.
