HKCC Long Room

The Hong Kong Cricket Club on Wong Nei Chung Gap Road remodeled both of its dining facilities.

In the process, the coffee shop and main dining room changed ends and the two were re-launched as Spinners, for casual family get-togethers, and, for more formal dining, The Long Room, serving haute cuisine.

The Long Room is a suitable description of the shape of the space but cricket aficionados will also note references to the original Long Room at Lord's Cricket Ground in St John's Wood. Design of the wrought ironwork to the window wall was developed from detailing of the entrance gates to the cricket ground in London while upholstery to the dining chairs suggests cricket players’ blazers, an essential element of the dress code in the Lord’s Long Room.
